Adding assets and asset types

Asset and asset types can only be created by Railnova.

If you wish to monitor a new asset on the Railnova platform, your company administrator will first need to contact our Customer Success team by chat through the Railnova platform, by clicking on "Contact us" with the following information to create this asset:

  • asset name

  • asset type

  • asset UIC

The Customer Success team will create the requested asset and, if necessary, the asset type in the system after ensuring that it hasn’t already been created and activated on the platform.

Please note that it is not possible to create an already existing asset on the Railnova platform again. If the vehicle already exists on the platform and belongs to another company, please contact their Railnova admin and ask him to share this asset with your company on the Railnova platform.

Asset titles

Once you become the admin of the vehicle, it will then be available for your organisation on the platform. As an asset administrator, you are the only one who can perform the following action:

Further customisations can also be performed, depending on the permissions set when sharing the asset, the roles of users, and the company title :

If you're interested to know the differences between the different company titles (admin, telematics owner, ECM, operator) and their permissions, you can have a look at this article.

Removing an asset from your view

If your company is the administrator of an asset and is no longer using it, you can contact our Customer Success team, who will deactivate that asset on the platform. The asset will no longer be visible to anyone.

If an asset is shared with your company, and you no longer want access to that asset, please contact an administrator at the company sharing this asset with you and ask them to remove the sharing.
