Real-time fleet monitoring

Live Monitoring is a tool that allows you to visualise your assets and the data you collect from your assets in real-time.

If your company is a Railgenius Enterprise Customer, the Live monitoring module is directly available from the homepage under the section Railgenius.

By clicking on "Live monitoring" on the homepage, you'll be redirected to the page, which should look similar to this:

You can further narrow down the information you want to see:

  • by using the tabs at the top if you'd like only to see one particular asset type.

  • by selecting the columns at the top right of your screen that you'd like to display on the monitoring page.

If you see that the status is crossed out and greyed out, it means that it's considered not up-to-date at that specific moment. It could be due to poor reception, and the status will update again once the reception is good.

Configuring the view on the Live Monitoring page

Live data configuration

If you are a company administrator, you can easily customise the data displayed on the Live Monitoring page by creating a live data configuration in the admin menu on the Railnova platform. If you would like to learn how to create a live data configuration and how to assign it to assets, please follow the steps described in this article. If you do not have admin rights, contact a Railnova administrator within your company. Your admin will create the live data configuration for your company.

Please note that live data configurations are not shared between companies. If another company has a live data configuration for assets, you also have access to; they cannot share it with your company. You will need to create and assign your own live data configuration.

Rule Engine alerts

You can choose to display open alerts from the rules in the Rule Engine on the live monitoring page. As a company administrator, simply edit the rule in the admin menu and tick the box "Show in Live Monitoring", as shown in the picture below. If you do not have admin rights, get in touch with a Railnova administrator within your company, and he/she will edit the rule for you.

If this is activated, the messages are highlighted in red in the live monitoring.

If you don't want any highlighting at all, please remove this display option directly in the rule and then save the change. After the modification was saved, the red highlighting on the Live Monitoring page will disappear.

If you don't have admin rights, please contact your company admin and ask him to modify the rule for you.

Individual asset live monitoring view

If you want to check the details of a specific asset, click on the asset name to be redirected to its individual view page.

This page shows:

  • Live data (with a click on any of the fields, you'll be redirected to the Data Inspector page)

  • Open and closed alerts

  • Map with infrastructure relevant to your company

When you click on an open alert, you'll see the start date and time and its description. You have the possibility to inspect the data directly in the Data Inspector or on the Telematic page, and you can close the alert manually.

By clicking on a closed alert, you can view the start and end time of the alert, read the description, and you can inspect data in the Data Inspector or the Telematic page.
