How to access the digital logbook from a QR code and create a defect report

Updated over a week ago

The digital logbook gives locomotive drivers an overview of everything that concerns the locomotive and allows them to report defects.

Some locomotives are equipped with a QR code that gives the driver direct access to the digital logbook of that locomotive.

Opening the digital logbook

Scan the QR code with your phone or tablet to access the logbook:

You can see the operational status, restrictions if any, and all the opened and closed events for that locomotive.

On the top right of the page, you can find the hotline number to call if one is available, and just below, you can create a new defect report by clicking on the button "Create event".

Creating a defect report

Click on the button "Create event" to open the defect report form.

Fill out all the required fields (marked with an asterisk), then submit your defect report by clicking "Create event" at the bottom right of the page.

Once the report is created, you will be automatically redirected to the logbook, and you will see your report appear at the top of the list of open events.

Note that the asset number is automatically filled in, as well as the date, time, and location if the locomotive is equipped with a Railster.

You can always modify the location manually if needed.
