Get an overview of your Railsters

Updated over a week ago

Through the Railster dashboard, you can easily access a complete list of the devices managed by your company, and filter them as needed. You will not be able to see Railsters of assets shared by other companies.

If you don't see that page on the platform but need access, please contact your administrator to update your permissions.

When you open the page, you can see that the devices are automatically grouped by location. Additionally, you can use the filters at the top of the page to display a list of Railsters with the selected criteria.

Each Railster card includes the device serial number, its status (connected, sleeping or not assigned), the device type, and the asset it's assigned to (if relevant).

  • "Connected" means that the vehicle is currently on or running. The Railster is communicating, and the last message from the Railster was received within the last 5 minutes.

  • "Not assigned" means that the Railster is currently not assigned to a vehicle on the platform.

  • "Sleeping" means that the Railster is assigned to a vehicle on the platform but is currently not connected. The vehicle is probably switched off (parked, in maintenance), and the Railster is, therefore, switched off as well. The status is shown as sleeping as well when the last message received from the Railster is older than 5 minutes.
No action or check is required from your side when the Railster's status is sleeping.

You can easily identify your device type, which includes the following options:

  • Railster1

  • Railster2 3G

  • Railster2 4G

  • Railster2U 4G without battery

  • Railster2U 4G with battery
